01 — What we do
What we fix
We find the actual cause of the problem, fix it, and make sure the system is cooling before we leave.
-
Warm air from the vents
We check airflow, refrigerant pressures, and the outdoor unit to find out why the system runs but doesn't cool.
-
Systems that won't turn on
We trace power from the breaker and thermostat to the air handler and condenser, including blown fuses and tripped float switches.
-
Capacitors and contactors
These small electrical parts wear out often in Florida heat. We test them and replace what's bad so the compressor and fan start reliably.
-
Frozen evaporator coils
Ice on the indoor coil usually points to low airflow or low refrigerant. We find the cause instead of just thawing it out.
-
Condensate leaks and clogged drain lines
We clear algae and sludge from the drain line and pan, and check the float switch so water stays out of your ceiling.
-
Refrigerant leak diagnosis
If the system is low on refrigerant, there's a leak somewhere. We locate it and explain whether repairing it makes sense.
02 — Signs
When your A/C needs a repair call
Most A/C problems give a warning before the system quits completely.
- Air from the vents feels cool but not cold
- The outdoor unit hums but the fan doesn't spin
- Ice on the copper line or the indoor coil
- Water pooling around the air handler or dripping from a ceiling
- The system runs nonstop and the house never reaches the set temperature
- The breaker trips when the A/C kicks on
- Clicking, buzzing, or grinding from the indoor or outdoor unit

Why A/C systems break down in Tampa Bay
In Tampa Bay, air conditioners run most of the year, not just in summer. That steady workload wears on motors, capacitors, and contactors faster than in milder climates. A lot of A/C failures come down to a small electrical part that finally gives out after months of long run times.
Humidity is the other big factor. Your A/C pulls a lot of water out of the air, and that water runs out through a condensate line. In warm, damp conditions, algae and sludge can build up in that line and back it up. When that happens, a float switch may shut the system off, or water may overflow into a closet or ceiling.
Homes near the coast, especially in Pinellas, can see salt air corrode outdoor coils and electrical connections over time. If your condenser sits close to the water, it's worth having us look at the coil and wiring while we're out for a repair.
03 — Process
How an A/C repair visit goes
-
Tell us what's happening
Call or text 727-732-4357 and describe what you're seeing. We'll tell you when we can get there.
-
Diagnose before we fix
We check the thermostat, electrical, airflow, drain, and refrigerant side to find the actual cause.
-
Explain your options
We tell you what failed, what the repair involves, and what it costs before any work starts. If the system is near the end of its life, we'll say so.
-
Repair and test
We make the repair, then run the system and confirm it's cooling properly before we leave.

Why is my AC running but not blowing cold air?
Common causes include a dirty filter, a frozen coil, a failed capacitor on the outdoor unit, or low refrigerant from a leak. Check that the filter is clean and the thermostat is set to cool. If it still blows warm, turn the system off and call us so a small problem doesn't turn into a compressor failure.
Why is water leaking from my air handler?
Most of the time it's a clogged condensate drain line. Algae and debris build up, the line backs up, and water spills out of the pan. A cracked pan or a frozen coil that's melting can also cause it. Turn the system off to limit water damage and call us to clear the line and find the cause.
Can I just add refrigerant to my AC?
Refrigerant doesn't get used up. If your system is low, it's leaking. Adding more without finding the leak means you'll likely be low again soon. We locate the leak first, then tell you whether it makes sense to repair it or whether the system is due for replacement.
